The Kid with a Bike also won the Grand Prix, the second place award at Cannes, last year.
Honestly, however, I do not understand why their movies are rewarded so well; Dardenne Bros.
Their movies often lack coherence and dynamism which good continue reading always have.
Not surprisingly, The Kid with a Bike is no exception.
One of the main characters is a 12-year-old boy, Cyril who is in a foster home after parted from his father.
He does not understand the situation well, and tries to find out his father and the bicycle which his father bought Cyril.
So far, the story is not so bad, but after this, the story goes beyond our at least my link />The latter is very problematic in terms of its coherence.
Cyril has the bicycle stolen twice by the gangsters, and eventually he makes a friendship with the leader of them.
For the gangsters, stealing the bicycle is only a trick to take in Cyril and make him join a robbery.
The story looks well-considered, but Cyril always cherishes the bicycle as it is the present from his father.
So, how can he have it stolen twice?
The first time is OK.
It seems Cyril does not think of any possibility that read article bicycle might be stolen.
The second time, however, cannot be explained with the same logic.
There is also Samantha who knows the importance of the bicycle.
Some people might think that I care a too tiny point, but it must be important.
Being stolen the bicycle is the starting point of much more ゴヤシネマカジノ 66カジノビュッフェ時間 />With this poor, incoherent start, everything is going to be unrealistic.
The reason the Dardenne Bros.
Making a story is the work of imagination.
They should not rely on easy ways sacrificing logic.
They should start from a more logical point, namely buy a lock.
There are also a lot of weak points in this movie.
The most noticeable one is Dardenne Bros.
We can expect the bicycle will be stolen or Cyril will escape to join robbery at least one minute earlier every time, and the fighting with one of the gangsters lacks tension somewhat, if not at all.
I might be too severe for Dardenne Bros.
Their movies usually deal with social matters using low, quiet tone.
The Kid with a Bike is not an exception; the story is about a boy who is discarded by his father.
This kind of problem can be found not only in Belgium but around the world.
I have no idea how many children are in the same circumstance as Cyril in Belgium, but there should be a problem.
To describe social matters, they cannot completely avoid digging details and showing them comprehensively.
We do not fully understand what kind of place the foster home is or how other children stay there.
It is somewhat because the movie is very short, 87 minutes, but seemingly, the main objective is not showing social matters.
So, what is the objective?
It seems to be a mutual understanding between children and adults.
Even though Cyril was thrown away by his father, he meets Samantha and build trust in her.
Samantha, in return, just loves Cyril.
Nevertheless, I cannot say that objective is achieved successfully.
The reason is all the characters are shallow, in other words, stereotypical.
Cyril is a typically childish child who is always searching his father not trying to understand the circumstances.
Gangsters are typically disgusting gangsters.
And Samantha typically shows maternal love.
The Kid with a Bicycle is here of fakes.
Belgian filmmakers do not know how to show details or how to describe characters.
They just know how to beg our pity.
That explains well that they always keep their movies as short as possible, otherwise everyone knows they are not capable of making well-structured movies.
Again, I just do not understand why Dardenne Bros.
Dealing with social matters and love does not necessarily make good movies.
The film is concoction of suspense and human drama, realism and fantasy, and the world of adults and youth.
These conflicting factors develop in the post-civil war era in the rural area of Catalunya.
The setting is well considered, ゴヤシネマカジノ not original, but Black Bread seems to lack the power which grabs our attention ardently.
The story is very complicated as it is essentially suspense.
A brief summary is like this; an 11-year-old boy, Andreu finds a fallen horse and carriage in woods.
Farriol is also known as an underground communist by the local police.
Andreu naturally believes his father is arrested for it even though he is innocent.
The summary above is just minimum.
There are many other factors going on, too.
Nevertheless, the most important factors in Black Bread should be the conflict between adults and youth as it certainly represents the conflict between two main characters, Andreu and Farriol.
It also shows the contrast between suspense and human drama.
Suspense belongs to adults, and human drama belongs to youth.
The latter, how children accept the truth and react to it, is more important of course.
Black Bread knows it well and takes time to show how children see adults or show somewhat lusty relationship between Andreu and his cousin, Nuria.
Strangely, however, the movie does not come to have sufficient power.
The more filmmakers put stress on children, the more ゴヤシネマカジノ children seems to be snoqualmieカジノビュッフェシーフードナイト the story.
One thing we have to keep in mind is that this movie starts from murder, in other words, suspense.
There should be an order.
It is extremely difficult to say that filmmakers did a good job in this respect.
The confusion triggered by murder disappears imperceptively, and comes next confusion about communism movement as we often see in this kind of Spanish movies.
We cannot find solid grip on the film.
The failure of Black Bread is mostly because they could https://slots-win-deposit.site/1/2036.html set up two solid bases: the world of adults and youth.
Without them the movie is indecisive until the very end.
We do not understand WHAT or WHOSE story Black Bread is.
I do not want to be exceedingly cooperative to indulge myself into movies.
They should not count on our generosity.
Black Bread goes scarily after Farriol is arrested.
Andreu becomes reproachful and revenges adults when it comes to choose his future.
Again, I knew it was supposed to be scary or could be scary, but it was not.
The failure of setting costs too much even in the climax.
Last but not least, I have to consider the angel in the movie.
Sometimes a charming older boy appears and has some contact with Andreu.
He imagines he has wings, and he stretches them every time he wants to go away somewhere.
Actually, he has TB and is treated outside of village.
He is also castrated for his homo-sexuality, which is also リラックスするPCゲーム to the confusion in the village sometime before.
The angel boy plays an important role in the fantasy part.
His charm is out-of-placely attractive and lessens the tension of this dark fantasy movie.
Therefore, I am really sorry filmmakers could not make full use of it.
The angel boy is the bridge between adults and youth; again and again, they need two solid bases, otherwise the angel boy looks just out-of-place, or worse, an afterthought.
As I have seen so far, the factor which divides good and bad movies is often a ミスティックアイランドオンラインゲーム tiny thing.
This tiny misunderstanding makes Black Bread not an excellent movie, but another mediocre post-civil war movie.
